Abstract

Growth Differentiation Factor-9 (GDF-9) is a growth factor with 51 kDa relative molecular mass in cow. GDF-9 is member of Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGFB) superfamily which is expressed in oocyte and Syntethized at follicular growth. The objective of this research was to determine the specificity of GDF-9 protein which collected from cow oocyte, with anti GDF-9 monoclonal antibody (AP2069a) by using Western Blotting method This research was done at In Vitro Fertilization Laboratory of Faculty Veterinary Medicine Airlangga University Surabaya and at Laboratory of Biochemistry of Mathematic and Science Faculty Brawijaya University, at September - December of 2008. The result showed that there was positive reaction of Western Blotting at 51 kDa protein band with anti GDF-9 monoclonal antibody (AP2069a). It could concluded that protein band with 51 kDa relative molecular mass of cow oocyte was protein specific ofGDF-9.
