Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive PowerPoint-based learning media using Problem Based Learning (PBL) for the topic of Sound Properties for fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Dayu Karangpandan. The media is designed to enhance students' understanding of abstract science concepts through a problem-based learning approach. The research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model, which consists of four stages: defining (define), designing (design), developing (development), and disseminating (disseminate). In the defining stage, an analysis of student and teacher needs was conducted, along with identifying issues in science learning. The design stage involved preparing the material, designing the media, and developing evaluation instruments. The development stage included validation by material, media, and language experts, as well as product trials with students and teachers. The validation results showed that the learning media was rated as "fairly good," with average scores of 3.53 for language validation; 3.21 for media validation; and 3.46 for material validation. The product trial by teachers also yielded positive feedback, with an average score of 3.6. The learning media was designed with interactive features such as text, images, animations, and videos, and was equipped with problem-based evaluations. It is expected to increase students' interest and understanding of the topic of Sound Properties. The research findings indicate that the interactive PowerPoint-based learning media using PBL is suitable for use in elementary school science education.
