Abstract

Knowledge is important for a person's attitude and behavior (actions). Patient attitudes are important in preventing disease transmission. Good human behavior can have a positive impact on treatment, preventing the spread, and avoiding pulmonary tuberculosis. Therefore, this study aims to examine the relationship between knowledge of drug resistance and attitudes of pulmonary tuberculosis patients with medication adherence at the Dr. Ario Wirawan Salatiga Lung Hospital. This type of research is an observational study with a Cross-Sectional approach with a population of Pulmonary TB treated at the Dr. Ario Wirawan Salatiga Lung Hospital. The research sample of Pulmonary TB patients treated at the Dr. Ario Wirawan Salatiga Lung2 Hospital amounted to 95 respondents with a Consecutive Sampling technique, namely the sample was selected with the criteria of Pulmonary TB patients who were undergoing treatment at the Dr. Ario Wirawan Salatiga RSP and were not suffering from hypertension or diabetes. Data collection with self-filled questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the Chi Square Test. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between the attitude of pulmonary tuberculosis patients with compliance with taking medication at the Dr. Ario Wirawan Salatiga Lung Hospital (p-value 0.048) and there was no relationship between knowledge of drug resistance and compliance with taking medication at the Dr. Ario Wirawan Salatiga Lung Hospital (p-value 0.693). One of the factors that increases compliance in taking medication is the patient's attitude towards treatment. The high hope of recovery from a patient can increase patient compliance in taking medication
