Abstract

Water is a basic need for all living things in the world. The 2020 Household Drinking Water Quality Study in Indonesia (SKAMRT) found that only 11.8% of households had access to safe drinking water quality as seen from the parameters of E.Coli, pH, nitrate and nitrite. Water quality is known to be influenced by several factors including the type of water facility used and the level of risk of pollution in the water facility used. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the type of water facilities and the level of pollution risk in water facilities with water quality at the household level in Surakarta City in 2024. The cross-sectional study design involved 255 households selected using the 2-stage cluster sampling method in the Household Drinking Water Quality Surveillance (SKAMRT) activity in Surakarta City in 2024. Fisher Exact analysis showed that there was a relationship between the type of water facilities (P value 0,005) and there is no relationship between the level of pollution risk in water facilities (P value 0,501) and water quality at the household level in Surakarta City in 2024. Therefore, specific water management must be focused on improving water quality and infrastructure that can be carried out by the Government through cross-sectoral or community cooperation.
