Abstract (Abstrak)

Title : Relationship Between PI3K Expression With Grading And Metastasis In Luminal Subtype Breast Cancer Patients

Objectives to analyze the corellation of the expression of PI3K in relation with pathological and metastatic profiles in breast cancer.

Methods used observational approach with cross sectional test for statistical analysis. p value <0.05 was considered to indicate statistical significance.

Results This research with 74 sample breast cancer patients, from April 2023 until August 2023, were examined by Immunohistochemistry in the UNHAS Hospital laboratory. Subject the highest age above 50 years 39 (52.7%) subjects, the most grading was moderate tumor grading 30 (40.54%), the most subtype was luminal B subtype 49 ( 66.2%), while the highest number of PI3K expressions were positive, namely 42 (56,8%). Breast cancer metastases were 29 (39.2%) subjects, most common locations for metastases is bone 10 (34.5%) subjects. There were negative PI3K who had moderate grade malignancy (66.7%). Chi Square test showed was a significant relationship between PI3K with grading and metastasis ( p value 0.05). More negative PI3K results in non-metastatic breast carcinoma (55.6%). Prevalence Ratio (PR) calculation showed that non-metastatic breast cancer patients were at risk of 2,302 times the risk of having a negative PI3K result compared to patients with metastases (95% CI 1.147-4.617).

Conclusion There is a relationship between PI3K expression with grading and metastasis in luminal subtype breast cancer. More PI3K overexpression, the higher the tendency for distant metastases to occur.
