Abstract
This study aimed to explore the Qur'an memorization practices at PPTQ Griya Qur'an 5 Klaten. It investigated the strategies and methods employed in memorization, examining their strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, the study analyzed the factors that either supported or hindered the memorization efforts at the institution, providing a comprehensive understanding of the memorization experience at PPTQ Griya Qur'an 5 Klaten. The method used is qualitative research with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and document studies. The data validity techniques used are source triangulation and method triangulation. The data analysis method used by the researcher is Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis, which states that data analysis is carried out using the following steps: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study are: (1) The strategies applied in PPTQ Griya Qur'an 5 Klaten include repetition, ensuring memorization is attached before moving on to the next verse, using a single mishap, understanding the meaning of the verse, paying attention to similar verses, and making memorization deposits to ustad. The methods used are wahdah, kitabah, and sima'i, a combination of repeating old memorization and adding new memorization, classification of memorization targets, paired muraja'ah, and reading the Qur'an intensively before starting memorization. (2) The strengths of this strategy and method are the existence of joint deposit programs, tasmi' akbar, juziyyah, level programs, strict assessments, and good interaction between ustadzah and parents. However, using flexible strategies and methods causes students to lack discipline, and pressure from parents to complete memorization can burden them. (3) Supporting factors include optimal use of time, discipline, motivation to repay parents, aspirations to become a hafiz and support from ustadzah and parents. Inhibiting factors include lack of mastery of makhraj and tajwid, laziness, infrequent muraja'ah, and lack of concentration when memorizing.
